Dr. Reuben Coleman Hill was an educator, doctor and minister born in 1808 near Crellsboro, Kentucky. In 1888, after years of service as a founder and trustee of McMinnville College, Dr. Hill received four certificates for tuition at McMinnville College to be used by any of his direct descendants. Years passed, the school’s name changed to Linfield University, and the tuitions fell into disuse until 2002 when the RC Hill Trust was founded. Since then, the RC Hill Trust scholarship has helped over twenty students graduate from Linfield University.
